The Miami Township Board of Zoning Appeals met on Monday, April
7, 2008 to consider and take action on the following case:
[Case 801] Caller Properties. The applicant
requested a variance to
decrease the parking lot setback
for a portion of the lot from 15 feet to 5 feet; decrease the the
size of the parking stall from
10 x 20 to 9.5 x 19; and to increase the permitted parking from
66 to 74 spaces. The proposed
development is located on SR 28 in front of the Meijer store.
After a public hearing, the Board
voted to approve the variance requests.
The Miami Township Board of Zoning Appeals met on Monday,
February 25, 2008 to consider and take action on the following cases:
[Case 798] KBA Incorporated. The applicant,
representing Midland Atlantic, requested a variance to permit larger
wall signs for the tenants of a proposed shopping center. The
request was for 2 square feet of
signage for each linear foot of tenant space width. After a
public hearing the BZA voted to approve
the variance request.
[Case 799] Triumph Signs. The applicant,
representing Thornton's Service Station, requested a variance to
permit
larger monument sign for their proposed gas station. The request
was for a 15.5 foot high sign at 99.6
square feet. After some discussion the the applicant amended
their variance request to reflect a
12.5 foot high sign at 70 square feet. At the conclusion of the
public hearing the BZA voted to
approve the amended variance request.
[Case 800] Tata Consultancy - This application was
withdrawn
The Miami Township Board of Zoning Appeals met on Monday,
January 7, 2008 to consider and take action on the following cases:
[Case 797] Sharon Scovanner. The applicant
appealed a finding by the Community Development Director relating
Ohio Valley Voices regarding dead trees, construction debris, dead
ground cover and weeds, and
parking lot striping. After a public hearing the Board voted to
uphold the Community Development Director's
finding with regard to the dead tree, the ground cover and the parking
lot striping. The Board sustained
the appeal with regard to the construction debris, and the additional
landscaping in the parking lot
island. The Board requested the Community Development Director
to address parking stops next to
the fence.
