Chief Madsen has been with Miami Township Police Department since August 2011. Prior to working for Miami Township, she was the Administrative Lieutenant with Union Township Police Department. While at Union Township Chief Madsen served as a road patrol sergeant, detective and road patrol officer. Prior to her service with Union Township she spent six years with the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office. During her time at CCSO she was assigned to the Clermont County Narcotics Unit, and a negotiator with the Clermont County Special Response Team.
Chief Madsen graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1987 with a Bachelors of Science in Police Administration and a Minor in Psychology. She earned her Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University in 2003. She is a graduate of the Southern Police Institutes Administrative Officers course and a graduate of Session 59 of the Ohio Police Executive Leadership College (P.E.L.C.).
Chief Madsen was the accreditation manager for five years with Union Township during which time the police department was reaccredited two times with the 2010 award receiving flagship status. The Communication Center for Union Township received the CALEA Public Safety Communications Accreditation for the first time in during that same year. She is currently an Assessor for the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
Chief Madsen is married and has one child.
