The Board of Trustees of Miami Township, Clermont County, Ohio met in regular session at the Miami Township Civic Building on January 17, 2006 with the following members present: Edwin H. Humphrey, Ken Tracy and Mary Makley Wolff.
MR. TRACY made a motion to adopt the following Resolution:
RESOLUTION REQUESTING COUNTY AUDITOR CERTIFICATION PURSUANT TO OHIO REVISED CODE SECTION 5705.03, DISPENSING WITH THE SECOND READING
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees ("Board") has determined that it is necessary to levy a tax outside the ten-mill limitation for any purpose authorized by the Revised Code; and
WHEREAS, Revised Code Section 5705.03 requires that the Board certify to the
county auditor a resolution requesting that the county auditor certify to the
Board the total current tax valuation of the township, and the number of mills
required to generate a specified amount of revenue, or the dollar amount of
revenue that would be generated by a specific number of mills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees ("Board") of Miami Township, Clermont County, Ohio, by authority of Chapter 504 and Section 5705.03 of the Ohio Revised Code, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the purpose of the tax is a renewal of an existing tax for police, fire and ambulance services pursuant to Sections 5705.19(JJ) and 5705.25 of the Revised Code, and that the question shall be submitted to the electors of Miami Township at the primary election to be conducted on May 2, 2006.
SECTION 2. That Revised Code Section 5705.03 requires that the Board certify to the county auditor a resolution requesting that the county auditor certify to the Board the total current tax valuation of the township, and the number of mills required to generate a specified amount of revenue, or the dollar amount of revenue that would be generated by a specific number of mills.
SECTION 3: That the Board does hereby dispense with the requirement that this Resolution be read on two separate days, pursuant to Section 504.10 of the Ohio Revised Code, and authorizes the adoption of this Resolution upon its first reading.
SECTION 4: That the Township Fiscal Officer shall certify a copy of this Resolution to the Office of the Clermont County Auditor.
SECTION 5. That this Board hereby finds and determines that all formal actions relative to the passage of this Resolution were taken in an open meeting of this Board, and that all deliberations of this Board and of its Committees, if any, which resulted in formal action, were taken in meetings open to the public, in full compliance with applicable legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 6. This Resolution shall take effect at the earliest period allowed by law.

MRS. WOLFF seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution. On the roll call
