Fun & Crafts

Come join Krystal VanCauwenbergh and have some fun making new
friends at Fun and Crafts
camp. Paint, sand play, songs, parachute games, chalk, bubbles,
and fun crafts are just a few
activities of this camp.
My Little Friends Camp
August 11 - 15; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.;
Community Park; ages 0-6;
$20 Miami Township Resident Family; $25 non-resident
family;
This camp is for families with children ages 6 and under. We
will provide the setting for a great
play date, a snack, a circle time, and fun activities.
Experience the "camp" atmosphere. We will have
sensory, musical, large and small motor, building and other
types of activities. Parental supervision
is required for this camp.
Action Heroes Camp
July 7 - 11; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.;
Leming House in Community Park;

Come and explore the world of the rescue heroes through creative
play with figures and stories.
We will make those heroes come to life while teaching children
about real life heroes in our community.
Under the Sea
June 23 - 27; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.;
Leming House in Community Park;

Explore the world "Under the Sea" and discover the
creatures that swim the ocean. Learn fun facts
through craft stories, puppets, & creative movement
activities. Jane Gonzales from "Mother's Nature
2"
will perform the "I'm a mammal; you're a mammal"
puppet show and movement activities. Come join us
for a whale of a good time!
Mixed Up Crazy Wacky Camp - FULL
July 21 - 25; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.;
Miami Township Civic Center, 6101 Meijer Drive;
ages 3 - 6; $65 Miami Township Resident; $81 non-resident;
Come join Susie Heile for a week at summer camp where everything
is "mixed up, crazy,
and wacky". We'll be sharing silly songs, playing crazy
games, and making kooky crafts.
Be ready to have lots of fun on special days such as YAD
SDRAWKCAB (BACKWARDS DAY) and CRAZY DAY. Come join in the
fun!
Motion Madness
June 9 - 12; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; Miami
Township Civic Center, 6101 Meijer Drive;
ages 3 - 4; $55 Miami Township Resident; $69 non-resident;
Do you want to strengthen your child's balance, eye hand, eye
foot, large muscle coordination, and listening skills? Jan Beach
will use a variety of element to creatively accomplish this with
obstacle courses, scarves, balloons, bean bags, balls, &
parachute. This very active camp will keep children busy
running, jumping, skipping and rolling through a variety of
obstacle courses.
Our Animal Friends
July 28 - August 1; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30
a.m.; Miami Township Civic Center;
ages 4 - 6; $65 Miami Township Resident; $81 non-resident;
Join us as we explore the animal world. Pets, zoo and farm
animals will come alive with imagination & creativity
through puppets, songs, crafts, animal sounds & movement.
Hear a pig squeal, pet a goat, touch a feathered chick and furry
rabbits when Farmer Frank from Sun Rock Farms visits.
Preschool Safety Camp
July 14 - 18; 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.;
Leming House in Community Park;
ages 3 - 4; $65 Miami Township Resident; $81 non-resident;
What a wonderful way to introduce your preschooler to safety.
Kelly Spillman will educate your child about fire, bike, personal,
stranger, and traffic safety. We will also cover some basic
concepts for children such as hand washing, water safety and
calling 911. We will have different stations set up each day and
handy take home materials to reinforce the concepts that we will
be working on.
Princess Camp

Does your little girl dream of finding her prince charming or
being rescued by a knight in shining armor?
Does she dream to be like Sleeping Beauty, Princess Fiona,
Princess Jasmine, Ariel or Belle? Here is a
chance for your princess to participate in a week of fun and
fantasy with Heather Corbly while creating
her own fairy tale kingdom to preside over.
Dinosaur Days
June 16 - 20; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.;
Leming House in Community Park;
ages 3 - 6; $65 Miami Township Resident; $81 non-resident;
This camp is lead by Heather Corbly and will revolve around our
favorite extinct gentle giants while singing songs, reading
stories and using imaginations! The week's highlight will be a
visit from Jane Gonzales of "Mother's Nature 2", who
will perform a dinosaur puppet show that allows kids to growl,
claw, and walk like a dinosaur.
Kindergarten Safety Camp
July 21 - 25

Children must be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2008.
A.M. Session 9:00-11:30
P.M. Session 12:30-3:00

This camp is a great way to introduce your soon to be kindergartener
to the great big world.
Children will learn about safety topics such as bus, traffic, fire,
family and personal safety.
Children will be able to visit "Safety Town" where they will
be able to ride the Hummers and practice
their safety skills. On Friday, we will take a real bus ride to the
local fire station for a tour, and the
local police officers will give us a visit. Each day will include
songs, crafts, a lesson, snack and
games to reinforce the safety concepts.
