Mark your calendar for Monday January 24, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a public open house to present progress in the ongoing land use plan update process. See what the Land Use Plan Update Steering Committee has completed so far and provide your comments as well. Land Planning consultant Jay Stewart and Community Development staff will be on hand to answer questions. We hope you can make it to this important public input session. The Land Use Plan Update Steering Committee completed a great session on Wednesday November 10, 2021. The Committee reviewed and commented on seven unique focus areas within Miami Township, as well as considered points of pedestrian connectivity throughout the community. Next up is a public forum to be scheduled in January 2022. Stay tuned for the specific time and location to be determined. We hope you can attend to provide input on progress so far!

After a 20 month hiatus, the Land Use Plan Update Committee reconvened and got right back to work. Topic areas discussed at the 9.30.2021 meeting included multi-family residential, Business and State Route 28 special planning areas, and the Little Miami Scenic Trail special planning area including the Miamiville and Branch Hill communities. The Committee is planning to meet again in November.

The Land Use Plan Update Steering Committee has scheduled its second meeting for Thursday September 30, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Areas of discussion will include Branch Hill, Miamiville, the Little Miami Scenic Trail, and the State Route/Business 28 corridor.

It’s helpful to have a snapshot of existing land use conditions as a baseline as Miami Township proceeds with updating the land use plan. As part of the revision process, we just completed a brand new and updated current conditions plan. Check it out here.

The first meeting of the Land Use Plan Update Steering Committee was held at the Miami Township Civic Center. The Steering Committee held a break-out group brainstorming session to identify the three greatest challenges and the three greatest opportunities relative to growth and land use in Miami Township over the next 10 years.  Identified key opportunities included among others leveraging the Little Miami Scenic Trail, while key challenges discussed included rejuvenating commercial corridors and understanding future housing demand.

The next meeting of the Land Use Plan Update Steering Committee is scheduled for 3/31/2020.

Staff and planning consultant Jay Stewart just completed a kickoff planning meeting for the Land Use Plan update process.

The first steering committee meeting has been set for Thursday January 30, 2020 at the Miami Township Civic Building.

Miami Township website now showing progress on land use plan update and providing a portal for community comment. Community Development staff is holding preliminary meetings with planning consultant Jay Stewart. The Land Use Plan Update Steering Committee is being formed.
